Guide for Library Users

The library offers a diverse range of printed collection and e-resources for the use of Turku UAS students and staff. The whole collection can be found in the Turku UAS Finna search service.

E-resources

Opiskelija tutkii e-aineistoja tabletilla.Available online are databases, e-books, audiobooks, videos, online courses, e-journals, dictionaries, standards, as well as theses and publications available in Theseus.

The majority of e-resources are available to all customers. Students and staff of Turku UAS can use the e-resources acquired by Turku UAS Library by logging in to Turku UAS Finna using Haka credentials. Library customers outside the Turku UAS can use most of the e-resources in campus libraries' terminals for information seeking. There is no need for the Turku UAS library card to use e-resources. Printed collection

The collections of campus libraries focus on the fields woman browsing bookshelvesstudied on campus. To borrow printed material, you  need the library card of the Turku University of Applied Sciences Library. You can borrow printed books, journals, music, sheet music and films and printed theses from campus libraries. Loan periods vary.

A part of the printed collection is in storage. Read more about reservations and make a reservation in Turku UAS Finna. Items reserved from the collection in storage will be picked up twice a day when the library is open. You will receive an item available notice to your email when the material can be picked up from the shelf for reserved books.  

 

Most of Turku UAS's new theses can be read freely online in electronic format on Theseus. You can search for both printed and electronic theses in Turku UAS Finna.

Some theses stored in Theseus are in a restricted-access collection, which you can browse at campus libraries on designated terminals (terminals marked with the text ‘Theseus’). For more information, please contact the campus libraries or email library@turkuamk.fi.

Some of the older printed theses are in storage (Kupittaa Campus Library Lemppari). Make a reservation at Turku UAS Finna. Storage retrievals are carried out twice a day on campus library opening days. You will receive an item available notice when the material can be retrieved from the reservation shelf. The theses in the archive are available as a reading room loan upon request.

In Theseus, you can also find theses published online by all other universities of applied sciences.

Turku UAS has three publication series: Studies, Reports and Course Materials. We publish applied research, practices and knowledge from development projects, guides for professionals and course material for higher education institutions. 

All publications go through an editorial process. The authors include our staff, students and partners of the University of Applied Sciences. Most of the publications are free to download, some can also be ordered in print.

As of 2024, some of our serials have been published on the Talk publishing platform. As of 2022, our free-to-download serials have been released in Theseus, with a permanent download link and URN. In addition, they are indexed to Research.fi website, where other publications of our staff can also be found.

You can find our publications in Theseus from 2004 outwards. Publications from 2014 and earlier can also be found in the national Finna.fi search service.
