Have you noticed? AI tools are now available in Turku UAS Library databases! They make searching faster, smarter, and can save you a lot of time.
Currently, AI features are available in five English-language databases - and more are being added regularly. These tools operate only within the database itself. They don’t retrieve information from external sources, so you can trust the reliability of the content. Still, always check that the source fits your purpose, not just “close enough.” Some services are still in Beta, and providers welcome your feedback.
You’ll find details about each resource’s AI features in the Information and Research Guides E-resources Help and the Guide to e-books, under the resource tab in the section AI Features.
EBook Central – Research Assistant (Beta)
Research Assistant creates summaries of e-book chapters, highlights the most important concepts, and explains them in simple terms. It is available only in books you can read online. The search applies only to the chapter you are currently reading, not the entire book.
Statista – Research AI
Research AI answers questions about statistics and gives you relevant sources with text, tables, and graphs. It also suggests related content and follow-up questions.
EBSCO – AI Insights (Beta)
Currently AI Insights is available in EBSCOhost, Cinahl Complete, and Library, Information Science & Technology Abstract LISTA.
Choose a full-text source from your search results. If you see Generate AI Insights, click it to get a list of the publication’s key points.
